Prakrithi By Ramya was born from a simple but powerful belief: that the women who wear handloom sarees deserve to know the hands that wove them.
Founder Ramya Krishnan grew up surrounded by the quiet elegance of handloom textiles — the weight of a Banarasi silk, the earthy softness of Khadi, the intricate geometry of a handwoven border. What began as a personal passion became a calling: to bring authentic, ethically sourced handloom sarees to women who value craft as much as beauty.
Ramya built Prakrithi not as a marketplace, but as a curation — a carefully chosen collection of sarees sourced directly from master weavers across India's most celebrated weaving communities.

Banarasi Silk — Woven on traditional pit looms in Varanasi by families who have practiced this art for generations, our Banarasi sarees carry the weight of centuries. Each piece takes days — sometimes weeks — to complete, with intricate zari work and motifs drawn from Mughal and floral traditions.
Khadi Handloom — Spun and woven by hand, our Khadi collection celebrates the philosophy of slow fashion. Breathable, sustainable, and deeply rooted in India's independence movement, Khadi is fabric with a conscience.
